Why are there so many hypocrites in the Church?
This was a question that was once posed to me and one that makes me marvel at God's grace every time I think about it. For God did not come to save those who cleaned up their lives and live Christianity perfectly. He came to make sinners saints.
It is not a bad thing to realize that there are many sinners in the churches around the world. It is actually the way God makes each one a saint.
Do you mock at Christians who are not yet holy like you are without sin? Maybe you too need a God who will make you a saint instead of an obstinate sinner.

Confessing Our Faith
Sunday Mar 10, 2019
Sunday Mar 10, 2019
At the beginning of Lent, we recall why we are in this faith relationship and make a firm purpose to grow in grace. This is the message we find in the readings and in our own personal search for God in this blessed season of penance.
God calls us to be His own. And in the readings this Sunday we remind ourselves why we are Christians.

How to Cooperate with Grace
Saturday Mar 09, 2019
Saturday Mar 09, 2019
When we repent we are cooperating with grace. In doing this we act in a specific manner that is not against our voluntary desires. If we understood this, we would see how we are to blame for sin and not victims of a fallen nature.

You Can Do It
Friday Mar 08, 2019
Friday Mar 08, 2019
Is salvation something impossible? Nope. God never commands us to do something unreasonable. Salvation is near to each of us as Romans 10:8 informs us. We can repent because God by grace enables that to be possible. We just have to act in cooperation with His grace and do what is right and just.

Nature of Holiness
Thursday Mar 07, 2019
Thursday Mar 07, 2019
What is the true nature of holiness? Is it the result of our being born anew or is it more of how we cooperate with God's grace and live as saints. Here I attempt to give a reasoned explanation.

Changing Your Heart
Wednesday Mar 06, 2019
Wednesday Mar 06, 2019
As we begin Lent, we need to look at how we are to be converted. For many the idea of us repenting and trying to live better more spiritual and holy lives is something that is looked down on. But, in reality, without us changing our character we miss how we enter into a relationship with God and are not His puppets.

The One Condition
Tuesday Mar 05, 2019
Tuesday Mar 05, 2019
What is the one condition upon which all prayer hinges on? That one thing is the glory of God. If your prayer is done with one motive, to glorify God with the answer, your prayers will prevail.

Praying in the Name of Jesus
Monday Mar 04, 2019
Monday Mar 04, 2019
What does it mean to truly pray in the name of Jesus? Does it mean that we pray in a way that all of our prayers and with the statement "in the name of Jesus?" Or is that phrase simply a designation of us having a power of attorney privilege by which we need to represent Christ and what we pray for?

To not be blind
Sunday Mar 03, 2019
Sunday Mar 03, 2019
In this Sunday's readings, we have a very simple message: that we should be careful not to judge what we have no way of perceiving until something happens. In our own lives and in the lives of others it's only by our actions that we truly know the nature of the other person and ourselves. It is not until the mouth speaks that we can truly judge the intelligence of the individual. It is not until the person is asked to love that we can truly know that they are a loving person. It is for this reason that we cannot be blind leaders of the blind and not first look at whether or not we ourselves have a hindrance that prevents us from being effective for God.

Being God's Image
Saturday Mar 02, 2019
Saturday Mar 02, 2019
Prayer is the one way in which we experience the full reality of how we are created to be the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27). There are no other ways in which we truly rule and reign in this life and show the fullness of God's glory then and how we pray down the blessings of God on those whom we live among.
For many the prayer promises that we find, such as the "ask and you shall receive" and the "believe that you have received, and you shall have" seemed too high of a bar to truly believe without qualification. But the reality is that it is through prayer we truly unite with God and represent him to others.
