Eternal Purpose
Wednesday Apr 10, 2019
Wednesday Apr 10, 2019
The basis for the gospel is rooted in the eternal purpose of God in our creation. God wants a people to be in His image and likeness (Gen 1:27). This is the reason why God created us and redeemed us.

Presenting as Sanctification

Why present yourself to God? Why make sure that who you are and what you can do gets used as an instrument of righteousness?
It is because you are alive with new life by grace. Because you are purchased with the blood of Christ and belong to God. Because you are not your own anymore.

Baptism and the Cross
Monday Apr 08, 2019
Monday Apr 08, 2019
How do we experience salvation? By baptism. It is the way that scripturally saves us. Look at Mark 16:16, Act 2:38, or even, 1 Peter 3:21. Does it not show you the way of salvation is not a sinners prayer but baptism?
The Philippian jailer in Acts 16 was baptized by Paul who declared that baptism was the way to the newness of life in Christ (Romans 6:1-11). Why follow a tradition of man and say a mere sinner's prayer instead of receiving the full gospel that Christ commanded in the great commission of Matthew 28:18-20?

Reckoning Faith
Saturday Apr 06, 2019
Saturday Apr 06, 2019
In order to really believe in something, you must know that it is true. This is a principle in life and also in religion. There is no real faith that exists in something we do not believe in as a reality.
Faith in God is something that is based on knowing the facts of God's existence. And, faith in salvation is based on the facts we know about Christ and his redemption by the Cross and resurrection.

Knowing Our Place in His Death
Friday Apr 05, 2019
Friday Apr 05, 2019
When it comes to the Catholic understanding of salvation, the first step is a realization of grace. God has to have done something for salvation to be possible. As a result, our first response to God is acknowledging just what that something is. This "knowing" is our first act of cooperation with grace by which we receive the blessing of God by faith.

The Cross of Our Nature
Thursday Apr 04, 2019
Thursday Apr 04, 2019
As we investigate what Romans has to tell us about our own nature we find in chapters 5 through 8 that in Christ Jesus we have the ability to live holy and righteous because of Christ. This newness of life comes to us as a result of our being baptized. This is the clear message of we really understand it of Romans chapter 6. Our old nature, which is a nature inclined to sin which the church calls concupiscence, is overcome by the new nature that is provided to us in Christ Jesus if we only understood how his baptism brings us into this newness of life.

The Blood of our Redemption
Wednesday Apr 03, 2019
Wednesday Apr 03, 2019
When we are saved the basis for that redemptive act is based in our relationship to God by the atoning work of Christ's passion, death, and resurrection. This is because what Jesus did had an effect on God, others, and Satan.

We all stand before God and must give an account of how we have lived. We can choose to live for Him or we can choose to live for ourselves and lose our very souls.

Free to Choose

God created you with the ability to make a choice. This ability to choose is what makes all of your moral actions something that you can be blamed for or praise for. As a result, the gospel attempts to motivate you to make a praiseworthy moral choice. Unfortunately, many who preach the gospel fail to understand exactly how the mind works in order to make that choice. And it is for this reason that many believe that salvation is a mysterious happening that can only come about from an act of God rather than by the sinner making a simple choice.
