Today we begin a new section in our study of the Catechism. For we begin to examine the Fall of Humanity into sin and how far-reaching its consequences are for us all.
The two main lessons here are, 1) God did not create a Fallen world, it was our sins that -brought that about. And, 2) it is only with knowledge of the Gospel and a proper relationship with God that we can understand the real condition of sin and how devastating it really is.

Humanity Reviewed
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
As we enter into this review section of the Catechism, we recall the basic themes or ideas that we have been taught. First that each one of us has a great intrinsic value because we are all created in the image of God. Second, humanity has this image in both a physical way and a nonphysical way. Third, that equality does not mean the same, because God created humanity to be male and female. And Last, we are told about the original state that humanity had, which is being restored in a much greater way through Christ in the new creation.

Coworking with God
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
The original condition that all humanity had was one of self-control and being part of the greater reality of the universe as a co-worker with God. These are things that we lost in the Fall but are things that we can regain a part of the working of grace in our lives if we will co-operate with God in living holy lives.

When God created both man and woman, He made them equal. Not identical or same, but equal. Both are to help each other and serve, one is not the ruler of the other, they are to work together.

The Key to understanding gender in the biblical and Catholic sense is based on the concept that there are a distinction and equality about them. For there are 2 distinct genders, a male and a female genders and each both carry the image of God as the value for each. As a result, it is important not just to have equality, but also individuality.
